“Connors Climb” – A Will To Live – Fun Walk/Run For The Kids!
Well over 500 people where on hand to take part in this years “Connors Climb”. With the Governor of NH once again showing support for Mental Health in this beautiful state, the Life Teammates of Connor Ball, along with some wonderful trusted adult volunteers, put together a wonderful day for the kids!Dan McColley (shown up top at finish line and here leading the pack), the student leader of this year’s Connor’s Climb, ended up being the winner of the race. A tired but happy McColley exclaimed after crossing the finish line, “I ran for my friend Connor Ball!”

John, a former Red Sox pitcher, is shown here with NH Governor Maggie Hassan (center) who once again was the official race starter, and Tara Ball, who worked with the kids of Exeter to put this great event on in honor of her son Connor who took his own life in 2011. Over 500 people were on hand to watch 300+ participants run (or walk) in this year’s 5K raising over $15,000 for the Will To Live Foundation – to raise teen suicide awareness and education in the greater Exeter community and other communities across the country.||

THANKS TO THIS YEAR’S SPONSORS OF CONNOR’S CLIMB
The funds raised have been used to train nearly 60 educators from 30 NH schools in suicide education and prevention. Additionally, approximately 25 NH schools have been provided the Signs of Suicide (SOS) program, an evidence-based universal education tool as a result of the race. Another training will take place in the fall of 2014. Screening For Mental Health (who implement the SOS Program) Executive Director Candice Porter attended last years event: “To see something so positive come from such a tragedy, was very inspiring – so many people – Educators, Students and their families, will benefit from the monies raised by Connor’s Climb”
